What is “Home Hardening”?
The recent wildfires in Southern California have made us all aware of how susceptible our homes are damage from fires. We have also learned that there many ways to protect your home from fires. The term that has come to describe these improvements is called “Home Hardening”.
The attached article from The Orange County Register Newspaper identifies many of the applications that you can use to improve your home’s chances of surviving a fire.
As of January 1, 2021, CERTAIN sellers as defined by the law must disclose the status of their property to prospective buyers. This is done by completing California Association of Realtors for FHDS (Fire Hardening Disclosure and Advisory).
